about

A Thousand Years’ is the second single from the album ‘Ballad of a Murderess’ and Julia’s literary and metaphysical world of Ariaeth. The piece continues the emotional intensity of the album’s title track, ‘Ballad of a Murderess’ but adds something of pop sensibilities with melodic and lyrical hooks that will pursue you as you go about your day to day life . ‘A Thousand Years’ brings to the listener, a gentle and insidious offering of formidable resentment; a sense of unity for others but also a cautionary tale for those that may be tempted by Luciferian energies. Julia has written lyrics that shine a light amongst those that have been hurt in love and are carrying that pain through eternity. The song’s dualism is that the suffering will last for ‘A Thousand Years’, or until the day THE ONE approaches Ghostly or reincarnate prospects: in the world of Ariaeth, the true meaning beneath this metaphor of Victorian or New Age interpretations being … irredeemable death.

Julia Mosley has alchemised her past rage and anguish into A Thousand Years, and within this song comes haunting and striking melodies of grandeur and immediacy. Through the song Julia hopes that others may find a cathartic listening experience, feeling a sense of justice in this momentary fantasy of vengeance - by way of A Thousand Years' fury-fuelled obsession to tell all. Julia also hopes that it will serve as a warning to those who dare ignite the flames of wrath in those that commenced as kind hearts.

The studio version of ‘A Thousand Years’ is the calm before the storm in relation to the live version, which has been described as having ‘All Guns Blazing’. An epic dimension that brings the battle cry of insurmountable passion to the field. Further illuminating the world of A Thousand Years, as heard on both Ballad of a Murderess (album) and Tales of a Murderess (audiobook) is the Victoriana-inspired spoken word piece the ‘Pre-Raphaelite River’, which serves as an intriguing segue between the song and the live version.
